DuPagePads is grateful to announce local philanthropist Lou Holland has been recognized as the 2020 DuPagePads’ Spirit Award recipient!
Traditionally presented in person during Wake Up Your Spirit Day, this award recognizes someone who sets an example for the DuPage community in terms of service to others and the DuPagePads mission. The Chamber and the Greater Oak Brook Economic Development Partnership have been raising funds to assist hospitality and retail workers impacted by COVID-19. Thanks to the generosity of Chamber members and area residents, the Chamber is prepared to share grocery gift cards with current and former employees of Oak Brook Area companies who have been furloughed, laid off or have faced a reduction in hours or wages.
Please complete a simple online application to potentially receive assistance. Regretfully, resources are limited and a strong demand for assistance is anticipated. Not all applicants will receive grocery gift cards and the value of cards distributed will depend on the total number of individuals receiving assistance. Assistance provided is not intended as income replacement, but rather, a small gift to support colleagues and community members in need.
To donate to the Oak Brook Area Coronavirus Relief Fund visit https://www.gofundme.com/…/oak-brook-area-coronavirus…. Donations are 100% tax deductible. After GoFundMe transaction fees, 100% of funds donated will be distributed to Oak Brook area workers in need.
Thank you in advance for sharing this information, for supporting Oak Brook area business community members in need, and best wishes to you and your colleagues as we collectively navigate these unprecedented and challenging times.
