Oak Brook Park District’s Graphic Designer, Greg Wooley, was named the Rising Star of the Communications and Marketing (C&M) Section of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) during the section’s annual meeting on Thu., Jan. 18. Each year, the committee recognizes the outstanding efforts and leadership of a new member or a member who has stepped into a new role with the C&M Rising Star Award.
The section recognized Greg for his work in promoting Agency Showcase, IPRA’s statewide marketing competition. Greg’s creative work for the Oak Brook Park District was also recognized as among the best in the state during the Annual Agency Showcase competition. This year, 52 park and recreation agencies from across the state entered more than 220 submissions in 12 categories. The competition is judged by volunteer designers and marketing professionals from the private sector.
“Greg is the artistic strategist behind our visual communications, and his work is essential in increasing awareness of the park district’s mission, vision, and services within our community. It’s an honor to have him on our creative team,” says Jessica Cannaday, Oak Brook Park District’s marketing manager.
