People’s Resource Center (PRC) announced today a $50,000 grant from Tyson Foods to support PRC’s food pantries in Wheaton and Westmont.

This investment will help PRC provide over 45,000 grocery carts filled with fresh produce, frozen meats, bread and healthy nonperishables to low-income families in DuPage County over the coming year.

“Tyson Foods, Inc. is such an amazing partner of the People’s Resource Center,” said Christina LePage, PRC’s senior director of programs. “Their ongoing commitment to invest in PRC’s food pantries is a critical contribution that helps us carry out our mission to serve neighbors in need. We thank Tyson Foods, Inc. for honoring PRC with this generous award.”

Additionally, this investment from Tyson Foods will allow PRC to host free nutrition education sessions for low-income families as well as provide snacks for local schoolchildren.

“We’re proud to be longtime supporters of the People’s Resource Center and its critical work that addresses food insecurity in DuPage County,” said Matt Pakula, senior manager, corporate social responsibility at Tyson Foods. “Hunger is a complex problem, but feeding our hungry neighbors starts with getting involved and creating awareness.”
