People’s Resource Center (PRC) Southeast, along with the Westmont Special Events Corporation and the Westmont Park District, partnered to collect basic supplies for displaced Houston residents. PRC Southeast in Westmont served as the drop-off location and in only three days, was able to fill two vans, a pickup truck and two cars with in-kind and monetary donations to help the devastated area. The supplies were packed into a semi-trailer and driven to Houston on September 4.
PRC was honored to be part of the Hurricane Relief Drive and thanks the community for making the drive a success.
Kristina Kaniauskaite of Westmont Special Events said, “We were surprised how many people stepped up and donated supplies, but we knew the people of Westmont would jump at the chance to help.”
Food Pantry Supervisor Hank Anzelone commented, “Southeast DuPage, especially Westmont, always responds quickly when there are people in need. The drive showed how generous they are.”
