LHA/World Introduces “Colorology” App to Help Small Businesses Make Effective Branding Decisions


With many businesses using this time of year to take a fresh look at their image and brand, LHA/World Marketing and Web Development has launched a new app on the iPhone platform to help companies understand the power and psychology of color – enabling better branding decisions.

“Color has a tremendous influence on customers, but many people aren’t aware of what color can express,” said Leslie Harrold, president of LHA/World. “Logo design, advertising, marketing tools – the color choices in all of those can often say just as much about the product or service you offer as the words you use.”

With the Colorology app – currently available in the Apple App Store and soon to be available on the Android platform – users can explore the unspoken meanings of various colors and use that information to ensure their marketing materials reflect the appropriate message.

“A toy company looking to be fresh, energetic and appealing to young people would do well to select colors in the orange family,” said Harrold. “On the other hand, a technology company looking to communicate edginess might integrate gray with accents of red in their materials.” By knowing what message your colors are sending, you can create unspoken impact throughout your marketing materials.

“Our goal was to simplify and strengthen the color selection process by educating users on how to make a statement with your palette,” said Harrold. “We’ve had a tremendous response so far.”

Harrold added that future applications for small businesses would likely be forthcoming.
