Support Congressional Action on the Surface Transportation Bill
The clock is ticking and Congress has until March 31 to pass a new law investing in the country's surface transportation infrastructure. The time is now to communicate to Congress that there is the support from across the country for Congress to get legislation done to invest in our roads and bridges, public transportation systems, and the safety of the surface transportation network.
The letter will be delivered to Capitol Hill when the House and Senate both reconvene on Monday, January 23. It calls on Congress to Make Transportation Job #1 and pass a highway, transit and safety bill as soon as possible. Our goal is to collect the largest and broadest possible list of organizations to show Congress that they have a broad base of support for bipartisan action on SAFETEA-LU reauthorization.
After reviewing the letter, if your organization (e.g. company, association, chamber, chapter, coalition) wants to be listed in the signature block, please click here. Organizations will be listed alphabetically by name--"Acme, Inc.," "U.S. Chamber of Commerce," or "Americans for Transportation Mobility Coalition." The deadline for sign-on is COB January 19 to allow for preparation of the final document. Individuals should seek permission to add their organization to the letter.
I encourage you to forward this message and urge other organizations to lend support to this effort. Please call me with any questions. My contact information is at the bottom of this message.
